So,

Yeah. As you can see from the title of this blog post… my poor sister and bride to be had her hen do cancelled and reorganised as the U.K. decided to have winter the first weekend of March.

The weekend in which myself, head bridesmaid and mother of the bride had decided to plan a Gavin and Stacey themed hen do weekend in Wales!

As the snow conditions continued to get worse on the Thursday afternoon myself and mummy (Sarahlovesthis.com) decided to end the denial and cancel the trip. Our instant thoughts was…. DAMAGE CONTROL. Also… HOW MUCH MONEY DO WE HAVE?!?

With the final numbers in hand, it was time to panic buy like crazy. We managed to secure 5 tickets to the matinee performance of Wicked. And 5 tickets for The view from The Shard with a glass of Moët… or In mother’s words “Champagne for EVERYONE darling!”

The time came to brake the news to the Bride, with her reaction a combination of tears and the desperate need for wine and chocolate myself and mummy braved the snow to comfort her and tell her the new plan. In addition to a gift of chocolates, flowers, prosecco and a little bottle of COCO- Chanel Mademoiselle (from me and the head bridesmaid because we’re lovely).

So the weekend powered on!

To keep to short and sweet we ate lots of food, drank lots and even got a second trip to The Shard due to fog on the Saturday night!! So double horror for me as I hate lifts and heights! But hey! This chick did it! And I highly recommend it for anyone! It would a PERFECT date night!!

Not to mention how AMAZING Wicked was!! If you like girl power this is the show for you!! And this post is going up in INTERNATIONAL WOMANS DAY!! Perfect!

We had an amazing weekend of laughter and lots of love so I couldn’t be happier!

Until next post,

  1. Love love love this post… it’s so funny! It really captures the ‘headless chicken’ (sorry vegans and veggies) nature of us “panic buying”! My Bubble DeBeer impression was spot on too x
